What We Believe

Articles of Faith
(what we believe)

1, We believe that the eternal Godhead exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence and obedience (Mark 23:2, John 1:1-4, Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 5:3-4, II Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:1-3, Revelation 1:4-6).

2. We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired word of God (I Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:21).

3. We believe in the virgin birth and sinless humanity of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:20-23, Mark 1:35, John 8:46).

4. We believe in the total and universal depravity of man by nature (Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:9-18, Ephesians 2:13).

5. We believe in the owing to this total and universal depravity of man, no man can enter the kingdom of God unless born again; and that no degree of reformation, however great; no attainment in morality, however high; no culture, however attractive; no baptism or other ordinance, however administered, can help the sinner to take even one step toward heaven; but a new nature imparted from above a new life implanted by the Holy Spirit through the inspired Word of God (the Bible) is absolutely essential to salvation (Isaiah 64:6, John 3:5,18, Galatians 6:15, Philippians 3:4-9, Titus 3:5, James 1:18).

6. We believe that the Holy Spirit, not as an influence, but a Divine Person, the source and power of all acceptable worship and service, is our abiding comforter and helper, that He never takes His departure for His Church nor from the feeblest of Saints, but is ever present to testify of Christ, seeking to occupy us with Him and not with ourselves, nor with our experiences (John 7:38-39, John 14:16-17, John 15:26, John 16:13-14, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:9, Philippians 3:3).

7. We believe in the reality and personality of Satan (Job 1:8-12, II Corinthians 11:13-15, Revelation 20:1-3, Revelation 20:7-10).

8. We believe the duty of the Church is to give the gospel to all men (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8).

9. We believe in the blessed hope, the personal imminent, pre-tribulation, and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones; and in His subsequent return to the earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial kingdom (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Zechariah 14:4-11, Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 20:1-6, I Thessalonians 1:10, 1Thesselonians 5:9, Revelation 3:10).

10. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are this secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40, John 10:27-30, Romans 8:1, 38-39, I Corinthians 1:4-8, I Peter 1:5).

11. We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans 13:13-14, Galatians 5:13, Titus 11-15).
